Many Older Americans Lost Their Savings To Scammers

The golden years are tarnished for many older Americans who lost their life savings to scammers. Ohio ranked sixth in the nation last year for senior fraud reports, according to the FBI.

Tri-state law enforcement officers, such as Fairfield Township Sgt. Brandon McCroskey, reports that elderly victims’ accounts are often deleted by fraudsters.

“Once the damage is done, it’s over. It’s very difficult for local or even federal agencies to get that money back,” Sgt. McCroskey told scamnews.info.

We urge everyone to remain vigilant and avoid easily trusting strangers. If you suspect fraud, stay calm, don’t panic, and immediately contact the authorities or HK Lawyer Group for guidance on next steps.
